The city green market in Požega is one of those places which wake up first and where many people like to start their day, getting fresh groceries from the well-known small farmers who, for generations, bring their produce to the market.

In the green market, you can find daily fresh cottage cheese and cream, beloved for breakfast by many locals, various hard cheeses, fresh eggs, cured meat like the Slavonian ham and Kulen sausage, various products made of medicinal herbs, spices such as in our traditional dishes ever-present minced hot and sweet red paprika, fresh live and cut flowers, seasonal fruit like strawberries in late spring or cherries and watermelons in summer, fresh and pickled vegetables, wooden houseware and souvenirs and in December locally grown Christmas trees.  

In the green market which is operated by the city public company Gradska Tržnica, you can buy the produce mostly from small family agricultural farms in Croatia known under the abbreviation “OPG”.
