City Museum

The building of the city museum is situated on the western part of the Holy Trinity Square and being one of the town’s oldest secular buildings it is considered a jewel of baroque architecture. It was constructed at the beginning of the 18th century as a business and residential building with its gable facing the square. Its facade is decorated with pilasters, and beneath it, on the ground floor on the northern and eastern wall of the building there are „bolte” which continue to the Klezinger house towards the City Hall. Being a cultural constant of Požega and its region, after more than 95 years of existence, The City Museum of Požega is on the threshold of opening a large, comprehensive permanent exhibition on about 600 m2, which connects the complex of three representative buildings in the heart of town in a circular flow with an interesting museological concept.
